Our cafeteria crew is at it again!
From perfectly seasoned potatoes (which, at this point, may need their own fan club 🤩) to banana bread displayed so beautifully it deserves its own magazine cover… our cafeteria crew is bringing their A-game EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!
It’s hard to believe, but the first quarter is already wrapping up!
Please note that this coming Friday, October 16, will be an early dismissal day for students.
Report cards will be heading home soon, making this weekend the perfect time to chat with your student about their goals and celebrate their hard work so far this autumn!

The RSMS wrestling team will be starting practices on Monday, 10/19/26, after school. In order to participate in the wrestling program, students must be registered for athletics through the Arbiter website. Wrestling is for all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys and girls. Students must have a current physical and medical history submitted to the website. The instructions for completing the registration are listed below. Please note that you must upload the health history (6th and 7th grade students) or interim questionnaire (8th grade students only) and the physical examination forms. 6th and 7th grade physicals must be dated after 5/1/26 to be considered valid. 8th grade students who participated in athletics last year at RSMS must upload their physical from last year or submit a new physical. Please email Mr. Kossman (kossmanfr@tfsd.org) if you have nay questions.
Like your child’s brain, their immune system is always learning. Immunizations help teach it to recognize and resist diseases—so your child can stay one step ahead, stay healthy, keep learning in school, and enjoy more time playing.
To make things easy for parents, South Central Public Health is pleased to offer convenient flu immunizations during school hours. This helps reduce the need for parents to take time off work, children to miss class, or families to make an extra trip for their child’s immunizations.
When you receive your registration form, please complete all sections, including your insurance information. If your child does not have health insurance, please contact the South Central Public Health office and their staff can help you make arrangements for your child to receive the immunizations they need.
NOTES: No child (18 yrs and younger) will be denied a vaccine due to lack of insurance or an inability to pay.
Vaccine offered to students is the FluMist nasal spray
*Flu vaccine is not a required vaccine.

Who says math has to be done sitting under boring fluorescent lights?! Our middle school mathematicians took things to the next level with Glow-in-the-Dark Math Day in Mrs. Hall's class! 💚💙💜
With the lights down, black lights glowing, and highlighters out, students were solving problems, working together, and proving that math can actually be pretty awesome!
They may have been working in the dark, but these students were definitely lighting up the room with their math skills! 🔢🌟

RSMS Girl's Basketball coaches will be holding open gyms and tryouts soon. All 7th and 8th Grade girls wanting to participate in basketball must have the athletic registration completed and approved prior to open gyms and tryouts. Announcing the GEAR UP After-School Club for 7th and 8th Grade Students
We are pleased to announce the launch of the GEAR UP After-School Club, a new enrichment opportunity beginning on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. This program is specifically designed to help 7th and 8th-grade students translate classroom concepts into practical, real-world competencies.
Distinct from a traditional classroom setting, this club operates as a hands-on, student-led collaborative. Members will actively manage projects, allowing them to take ownership of their learning while developing essential life and workforce skills.
Core Competencies Addressed:
Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurship: Students will learn practical budgeting by managing actual group funds, navigating product sales, and developing strategic fundraising initiatives.
Professionalism & Leadership: The curriculum emphasizes workforce readiness, including interview preparation, organizational leadership, and strong ethical standards.
Critical Thinking & Collaboration: Team-based projects will challenge students to utilize digital literacy, solve complex problems, and practice active citizenship.
Program Logistics:

Our second annual Grandparent Advice Day at RSMS was a BIG HIT!
Apparently, our students have been saving up questions for someone who has seen it all—because the lines for Grandparent Advice Day were LONG! Students lined up with questions ranging from serious to silly, and our amazing grandparents were ready with wisdom, stories, encouragement… and maybe a little bit of “Well, when I was your age…” 😆
From friendship drama to life’s big questions, our students knew exactly where to go to get the answers they needed. And let’s be honest… grandparents have opinions and experience on just about EVERYTHING!

🍜 RAMEN BAR = INSTANT HAPPINESS!
Our amazing cafeteria crew was serving up some serious comfort food last week with a ramen bar at lunch!
Students got to customize their bowls and enjoy a little noodle magic right in the middle of their school day. Because let’s be honest…sometimes all you need to make it through 7th period is a giant bowl of ramen!
