Dear Parents and Students:

 

Welcome Back! I hope you are as excited for the new school year to begin as I am! As we begin another school year, I want to share my appreciation to all the parents for supporting our students in their education. Please excuse our dust as we are still in the middle of the construction!

 

Construction update: Our new main office is almost completed. It is located in the 100 building (the building closest to Caswell Ave. Parents and visitors can access the building and main office through the west entrance facing Wendell Street. There will be three visitor parking spaces right in front of the 100 building to have closer access to the front office. The new front entrance should be completed in the next few months.

 

Registration: Registration will be held in the cafeteria. Parents and students should use the gym entrance by the electronic RSMS reader board to get to the cafeteria.

 

Dates for the 2022-2023 school year:

 

7th grade registration

Friday, August 5

8:00 - 4:00

6th grade registration

Monday, August 8

8:00 - 4:00

8th grade registration

Tuesday, August 9

10:00 - 6:00

Make -up Registration 

August 10-11

8:00-3:00

Families having students in more than one grade may pick the day that is most convenient. Students will receive their tentative class schedules and pay optional fees. 

 

Optional Fees: 

Locker use fee: $10.00

Computer print fee $10.00

PBIS suggested donation $10.00

Yearbooks $35.00

Activity card - required for student athletes: $15.00

 

(Backpacks: Students WILL be allowed to carry backpacks to class.)

Cash, checks or credit / debit cards will be accepted. 

 

Supply Lists: They can be found on our website (https://rs.tfsd.org/2021/08/10/supply-lists-22-23/), or at most local stores. Some classes may request additional supplies specific to their individual classroom needs (i.e.  a notebook for a specific class). 

 

First Day of School:  School will begin on Wednesday August 17 at 8:40Attendance will be taken on the first day of school.

 

Attendance and Absences: For safety purposes, parents must verify each day a student is absent.  When your child is absent from school for any reason please call the school at 733-4875 by 10:00 AM each day.  Someone is available to answer the phone beginning at 7:30 AM each day.  If your child has not been verified by 10:00 AM on the day your child is absent we will make every effort to contact you to verify your child’s absence.

 

Athletics: All athletes must have a current physical examination from a local physician on file prior to the first practice. *All practices will be held at RSMS except when indicated. 

 

RSMS Tentative Fall Tryout/Start Schedule:

Football - 7th and 8th grade - gear check out will be during registration, practice will begin August 8th from 4-5:30pm

 

Volleyball - Open gym August 2-4 1:00-3:00. Tryouts will be August 8th and 9th - 8th grade will be 4-5:30pm both days and 7th grade will be 5:30-7:00pm both days

 

7/8 Girls Soccer - Light workouts will be August 2, 4, 9 and 11 from 5:30-7pm @ sunway soccer complex. Tryouts will August 15th and 16th from 5:30-7pm at Stuart and practices will be after school beginning August 17th.

 

7/8 Boys soccer - tryouts will be August 15th from 4-5:30 pm

 

XCountry - 6th-8th graders, first practice will be August 17th right after school - 4-5:30pm

 

Bus Information: Parents are asked to request bus service online. Visit the district website:  https://www.tfsd.org/parents/enrolling-your-student/ to submit your bussing request.

 

Birth Certificate on File: All students attending the public school must have their birth certificate on file in the school.  Idaho Code requires that each student have a certified copy of the birth certificate.  If you do not have this record on file, please plan to do so.

 

Proof of Immunization: The Idaho Code requires that updated immunization records be presented prior to enrollment in our school.  Please be sure your child is properly immunized before enrolling in school.  Without proof of immunization we cannot enroll any child.
