Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary
We are excited to share some wonderful news with you! Bickel Elementary School has been selected to participate in the America 250 celebration as an Ambassador School.
In 2026, our nation will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. As an Ambassador School, Bickel Elementary will take part in this historic milestone by engaging students in meaningful, age-appropriate learning experiences that highlight our nation’s history, values, and shared ideals. To begin our participation, we will be hosting a Patriotic Spirit Week from February 9–13. During this week, students and staff are invited to dress up each day to show their patriotic spirit and school pride. A flyer with the different dress-up days is attached for your reference.
Throughout the year, students will participate in a variety of activities connected to America 250, including:
Schoolwide events and spirit days
Classroom lessons and projects aligned with grade-level standards
Cross-curricular activities that encourage civic engagement, reflection, and creativity
Opportunities to celebrate our diverse stories while honoring our shared history
All activities are designed to be educational, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate, helping students build understanding, pride, and a sense of connection to our community and country.
We look forward to sharing more details with you as additional events and activities are planned. Thank you for your continued support as we provide our students with enriching experiences tied to this important national celebration.
