Dear Parents and Students:

Welcome Back! I hope you are as excited for the new school year to begin as I am! As we begin another school year, I want to share my appreciation to all the parents for supporting our students in their education. In addition, I want to express my commitment to increasing the communications to parents and students through our website, facebook page, and the use of PowerSchool. Check out our website or at our facebook page  for updates to our calendar, news feeds, and important notices.

We will continue to be faced with a lot of new challenges this year, and it will require all of us to be creative and flexible. Our district has approved a plan with an emphasis on safety and providing as much face to face instruction as possible. Please check out the plan if you haven’t already.

Registration Dates for the 2021-2022 school year:

Families having students in more than one grade may pick the day that is most convenient. Students will receive their tentative class schedules and pay optional fees. 

Optional Fees: 

Yearbooks $35.00

Activity card: $15.00

Computer Print fee $10.00

Locker use fee: $5.00

(Backpacks: Students WILL be allowed to carry backpacks to class.)

Cash, checks or credit / debit cards will be accepted. 

6th Grade OPEN HOUSE: Friday August 13 4:00 -6:00. Meet your SSC (advisory) teacher, tour the school and learn everything you needed to know about 6th grade.

Supply Lists: They can be found on our website (http://rs.tfsd.org/), or at most local stores. Some classes may request additional supplies specific to their individual classroom needs (i.e.  a notebook for a specific class). 

First Day of School:  School will begin on Monday August 16 at 8:40.  Attendance will be taken on the first day of school. It is a Collaboration Monday so students will be released at 2:50

Attendance and Absences: For safety purposes, parents must verify each day a student is absent.  When your child is absent from school for any reason please call the school at 733-4875 by 10:00 AM each day.  Someone is available to answer the phone beginning at 7:30 AM each day.  If your child has not been verified by 10:00 AM on the day your child is absent we will make every effort to contact you to verify your child’s absence.

Athletics: All athletes must have a current physical examination from a local physician on file prior to the first practice. *All practices will be held at RSMS. 

RSMS Tentative Fall Tryout/Start Schedule:

Volleyball 

8th Grade Tuesday August 10 from 4:30-7:30pm

7th grade Wednesday August 11 5-8pm

Football

Gear Check out during registration 

First practice August 9 4:30-6pm

Cross Country and Soccer  

First Practice/tryout: First day of school 4pm

Fall parent meeting -All Fall sports

Thursday August 19 at 6 pm in the cafeteria 

Booster Meeting following parent meeting

Bus Information: Parents are asked to request bus service online. Visit the district website:  https://www.tfsd.org/parents/enrolling-your-student/ to submit your bussing request.

Birth Certificate on File: All students attending the public school must have their birth certificate on file in the school.  Idaho Code requires that each student have a certified copy of the birth certificate.  If you do not have this record on file, please plan to do so.

Proof of Immunization: The Idaho Code requires that updated immunization records be presented prior to enrollment in our school.  Please be sure your child is properly immunized before enrolling in school.  Without proof of immunization we cannot enroll any child.
